Gay Games pumped $52 million into Cleveland-area economy

We just loved being part of the Gay Games 9 this past summer and are so delighted to learn about the just-completed study, by two economics professors at Kent State University, which calculates that the event added $52 million into the Cleveland area economy.  Both Skylight Financial Group and Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company (MassMutual) were sponsors of the event which, in addition to its impact on the economy, has been hailed a huge success in terms of the numbers it attracted and for its warm welcome. 

Dan Brennan, chief marketing officer at Skylight Financial Group and GG9 Board Member, said “I’m thrilled to see that the Gay Games not only celebrated diversity and inclusion on such a large scale right here in Cleveland, but also contributed significantly to Northeast Ohio’s economy.  The event has done so much to boost the profile of Cleveland.”
