Meet Skylight's New Associate Sarah Robinson

Sarah Robinson

College: Case Western Reserve University

From: Garfield Heights, Ohio

Why did you want to work at Skylight?

I want to provide people with a similarly excellent experience as the one that I had as a client at Skylight in 2013. My planner helped me overcome the negativity I had about money so that I felt more comfortable and empowered to be in control of my financial life. I want to provide others with that same sort of trust and knowledge to be able to achieve financial stability and success–whatever that means to them.

Tell us something you are really good at?

Learning languages – I speak near-fluent French, and learned Thai when I lived in Thailand and Ewe when I lived in Togo.

A fun fact about you:

I dance with fire! I own a small business called Fire and Light Performing Arts, which connects the “flow arts”– manipulation of props such as hoops, poi, fans, staff¬–to the community through public and private performances and events.

Your favorite place to hang out in Cleveland or Columbus:

The Cleveland Museum of Art and Wade Lagoon.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

I like to dance–ballet and modern–and find new ways to incorporate dance technique into the flow arts.

What’s the most adventurous thing you’ve ever done?

I completed a challenging 6-hour, 2,000-foot elevation change hike in Yosemite National Park. That experience still inspires me to keep going!

Who would you most like to meet – alive or dead?

I would love to have met Wangari Maathai who was an environmental and political activist from Kenya, professor, founder of the Green Belt Movement, and a Nobel Peace Prize Laureate.

Where do you want to be 10 years from now?

I hope to be more of a leader in the Greater Cleveland community and also build international partnerships in the financial and flow arts fields.
