Skylight Columbus Toy Drive: Bringing magic and sparkle to children this holiday season

Skylight Financial Group’s Columbus office is delighted to launch its Skylight Foundation 2015 toy drive to benefit the Franklin County Children Services (FCCS) and CASA of Franklin County (the Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children).  The toy drive, which will run from November 9 to December 11, is all about bringing happiness to children who have experienced abuse, neglect or difficult home conditions.

Greg Anderson, who is Financial Planner at Skylight Columbus and who volunteers as a guardian ad litem (GAL) for CASA, said, “We are delighted to be partnering with the FCCS and CASA this year to help some of the most vulnerable children in our community.  A gift means so much to them and for some, it may be the only gift they receive all year. So please give what you can.  Your support will be so appreciated.”

Greg added, “CASA, who take 20% of the worst cases in Franklin County, is an organization who are very dear to me and it’s great to see the folks at Skylight really get behind it. They were really supportive at CASA’s recent annual fundraising breakfast and it’s wonderful they are lending their support once again.  I know first-hand how difficult life can be for these children who find themselves in the court system by no fault of their own.  These kids have been moved around a lot into different foster families and schools so they often fall behind at school and have to keep making new friends.  Often I’m the only “constant” in their lives as I act as the “court eyes” making sure their best interests are served.   Just giving these kids some attention can make such a difference - whether it’s hanging out with them, taking them to a football game or grabbing a bit to eat with them.  As GALs, we’re there to point them in the right direction and give them hope and encouragement.  It’s such a privilege to do what we can to help.”

Gifts for the toy drive are needed for little ones through to age 18.  Details on how you can donate, drop-off location and the types of gifts required are included in the flyer.

Many thanks for your support!
