Skylight strengthens international ties
International relationships have been further strengthened as Skylight Financial Group promotes business connections with Ireland and Slovenia.
On May 12, Mark Owens, Director of Marketing at Skylight, was honored to meet with the President of Ireland, Michael D Higgins (pictured right) at a private executive leadership breakfast in Chicago, hosted by the philanthropic American Ireland Fund. Mark, along with 60 other top business leaders, listened to President Higgins speak of how Irish Migrants, the rich tapestry called the Irish Diaspora, enables Ireland to play a key part in global affairs. Later that evening Mark attended an evening reception in the renowned Drake Hotel at the invitation of Aidan Cronin, Consul General of Ireland.
“It was a great privilege to meet President Higgins and to represent Skylight Financial Group. The President spoke so eloquently about how Ireland’s Diaspora has strengthened cultural and economic ties between Ireland and the US,” Mark said.
On the same day, Skylight Financial Group also hosted a cocktail reception and dinner for a delegation of Slovenian business people (pictured below) to boost ties between businesses in Slovenia and the US. Cleveland, which has the largest Slovenian community in the US, was the first leg of Slovenia’s seven–day, three-city trade mission to the United States and was led by local councilman Joe Cimperman.
Dan Brennan, Chief Marketing Officer at Skylight Financial Group, commented, “We are delighted to have welcomed this delegation to our offices and to Cleveland which is well known for its thriving Slovenian community. The visit offered a great opportunity to explore business alliances between Slovenian and US firms.”
