Meet Skylight’s New Associate Sean Neri
College: Miami University
From: Columbus, Ohio
Why did you want to work at Skylight?
I want to work at skylight because I found the opportunity to better people’s lives through financial stability rewarding. I am interested in the field of finance and believe this is a career I would enjoy doing day to day.
Tell us something you are really good at?
Growing up I was always a swimmer. I followed my dream to compete in Division 1 as I swam on the varsity team all four years at Miami University. With swimming it allowed me to build skills in teamwork, dedication, goal setting, persistence, and many more skills.
A fun fact about you:
A fun fact about me is that I am an adrenaline junkie and enjoy doing many activities other people wouldn’t enjoy doing. I have been skydiving multiple times and have a bucket-list item, which involves base-jumping in a winged parachute.
Your favorite place to hang out in Cleveland or Columbus:
I love the city of Columbus and find myself drawn to the idea of staying here for a long time. I particularly enjoy the Short North because of its array of entertainment.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
In my spare time, I enjoy working out. Now that I am no longer an athlete I have the goal to complete a triathlon by the end of the summer.
What’s the most adventurous thing you’ve ever done?
I would have to say the most adventurous thing I have ever done would be a camping trip I did at the Algonquin natural park (larger than the Island of England). We did this experience in which you only bring the equipment you can carry and get dropped on a spot in the middle of the park. The rangers give you a day and a place in which they will pick you up, other than that you are on your own (our own survival of the fittest test). It was extreme and most importantly the most adventurous/-challenging thing I have ever done.
Who would you most like to meet – alive or dead?
I think I would like to meet Aaron Rodgers over anyone else. Big Packer fan ever since I saw my first game (Bears vs. Packers) when I was very little.
Where do you want to be 10 years from now?
While I don’t know where I want to be when it comes to my career, I want to be stable in a committed relationship with the potential of children. I would like to enjoy the career path that I chose and happy. I wish to see how this company will affect the rest of my life just with the first few years at this company.
