Rob Davidge, Financial Planner at Skylight’s Dublin Office, will be joining his family and friends to host a golf outing on August 21 2017 at the Pinnacle Golf Club near Columbus to raise money in the fight against multiple myeloma.  His father, Bill Davidge, Blue Jackets Analyst and former Ohio State University Hockey Alumni and Miami University Hockey Coach, was diagnosed in the summer of 2014 with multiple myeloma, a cancer of the plasma cells, a kind of white blood cell that is found in the bone marrow.  His father, who is now in remission, credits his progress to his outstanding doctor, the James Cancer Hospital, his faith and the support from others in the community.

The golf outing, which was started 2 years ago, by a family friend Michael Harris, has now been taken on by the Davidge family who are committed to “paying it forward” to help fund future research and save others.  All proceeds will be donated to the Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center – The James and since its inception, the events and its related fundraisers have raised more than $30,000.  This upcoming event is expected to add significantly to this total.

“Our motto, “bring a friend” appears to have worked as all 36 team places have already been sold out!   We are delighted by the response which is a true testament to my dad and we are excited to be doing our bit to help fund future research and save others.  For me, the golf outing is special because it ends up being a collection of family and friends (some of which travel considerable distances) and we all have a good time. I’m looking forward to seeing everyone on the 21st.” said Rob Davidge.
