Skylight helps build awareness and participation in the special needs community
Nearly 300 attendees, some traveling from as far as South Jersey, Minnesota and Manhattan, packed into Northeast Ohio Special Needs Conference, sponsored by Skylight Financial Group, on February 7. For the parents, teachers, volunteers, pastors and ministry leaders who attended, the conference delivered on its promise to be a great day of inspiration, education and connecting. The highlight of the conference was the keynote speaker and author, Emily Colson, who shared her story of the struggle and beauty of life with her 23-year old son Max who has autism. Emily’s key takeaway message was to continue to connect with each other.
Steve Thompson, Financial Planner and member of Skylight’s Special Needs Planning Team, said, “It was great to be part of this event and continue our commitment to supporting the special needs community of Ohio with access to information, a network of resources and education. People who came to the conference were so enthusiastic and left the conference equipped with lots of tools and information. It was so inspiring to see such heartfelt commitment.”
